The brat colour is a ugly colour indeed, excited to read a potential interview with Julia Harrison for sure. But for now enjoy your holidays Ochukooo :) xx

I heard in a podcast that they picked the brat color for his unpleasant qualities. Like they tested a bunch of greens and this one was one of the most aestheticly unpleasant. Something about not fitting in. Super interesting.

That’s actually cool and a bit insulting 😂😂😂 they were like “with good marketing we can sell ugly stuff to people anyway”

Hahahha yes and the worst part is they were right. What does this say about us humans 😂

Fantastic read as always! The CNN piece on Starbucks makes a huge assumption about the reason for downturn in sales. Is it solely due to consumers opting for lower priced options or is the global boycott of certain companies in relation to Israels war in Gaza also a factor? I can't say for sure but it seems a glaring omission not to mention it as important context and at least a likely contributing factor.

no I clocked that as well. but are we surprised they'd omit it? I'm NOT

On Alex Cooper at the Olympics - I've been watching her do her thing on TV, interviewing Simone Biles and such, and something feels a bit off. I don't think her style translates well to TV and for me, she's coming off as inauthentic and a little cringe. But, I may not be the target demographic...lol

now is when I'll confess that I've never listened to call her daddy episode. I've seen clips on tiktok and reels but yeah this is interesting....

I was going to comment the same thing 😬 I thought maybe she recently won the Bachelor and this is some cross promotion thing, but then I remembered no this is NBC and had to Google who she was.

She seemed unsure of herself or something the way she was holding her cards when she interviewed Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens. Her questions and delivery felt really unnatural.

wait this is HILARIOUS. she does look like someone who'd win the bachelor though.

I snort chortled at the upsetting new cookware brand branding. It really is upsettingly bad! But like, why is she bringing out a $150 hot pink Our Place pan?

Rich people don’t use conditioner?! I remember reading as a teenager, in an effort to have healthier hair, that washing more often with conditioner rather than shampoo would help with the “thickness” .

Your take on Alex Cooper is 10/10 and I'd never thought of her that way, truly an ideal influencer from a business perspective.

Okay Blake Lively 🙄 agree on the amount of brat green that will be making its way into the landfill soon. I went to the Renaissance tour last summer before Beyoncé asked fans to wear silver and was glad I didn’t feel the pressure to find something silver I actually liked on short notice. I noticed an uptick in shitty silver clothes and shoes at the thrift store after the concert.

thats so funny about the silver. at this point in my life, if I cant wear it more than once, if it cant be naturally incorporated into my wardrobe, I dont want it

"Hollywood isn't even making romcoms to inspire and delude us anymore. Honestly, it's all bad vibes." Yes I miss romcoms. Please Hollywood bring back meet cutes and romcoms. We need the positivity.

I also feel like romance books are filling the gap where romcoms aren't! But women are reading in droves and men (likely straight men?) are probably not. And, they're not reading about sad boys: https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/books/a61533105/sad-boy-literature/

Yes I've definitely turned to romance novels. Thank god there is plenty happening there. And I had no idea about the sad girl lit. Interesting article.

I read a ton of queer romance. I loved the Bright Falls series from Ashley Herring Blake. Also love anything from Haley Cass.

Also love fantasy / scifi books so I've stirred away from romance a bit and getting back to that lately with Fourth Wing. Really enjoying it so far.

Any good books you've read recently and would recommend?

my hot take is that a lot of sad girl lit tries to coast on vibes over everything else and it just doesn't work for me a lot of the time
