The startup one is really interesting. Have you heard of Venture for America? They have been around since 2011 pairing recent grads with startups. Recently they just shut down, all of the sudden with no warning, and all the fellows who thought they were guaranteed a job are just left in the dark. Super weird and not a lot of press on it.
Oh to be in the room when Neutrogena was brainstorming this terrible concept. The messaging is so fucked up. Using the word ‘bank’ to encourage young people to “invest” in their skin…by buying shit they don’t need.
writing this newsletter has interestingly turned me into a non consumer of like almost every category. nothing excites me. everything makes me roll my eyes
I read somewhere that Disney owned the building that couple ate in, but they leased it out to another company. So suing Disney for this is like if your friend invites you to their place as a ruse to kill your wife and you decide to sue their landlord.
There’s also the fact that they ate at other restaurants outside of the park between the time that they ate at the restaurant in question and the time that she passed away, so she could have had her allergic reaction from anything.
Oops. I misread the part about them eating at other restaurants outside the park… the restaurant in question was technically outside of the Disney World theme park, and enough time passed between when she ate the food and when she went into anaphylactic shock that it’s more than likely she had an allergic reaction from contact with something other than the food. I also think it’s weird that she was a doctor who knew she had a deathly allergy like this, yet neither she or her husband had an epi pen with them.
I desperately need an article on liberal women and their right-wing neoliberalism boyfriends. It’s definitely giving artist wellness girl with investment banking boyfriend. What is it like???? Does it ever dawn on them that he’s probably a raging misogynist 🤔
you make me smarter!
The power of Substack 🧡

I've heard of them but say zero press about their shut down. do you know any more about this? would like to include in newsletter
There are a few articles but they stay very vague about the shut down and what’s going to happen to the 2024 fellows.

A great thing for your wallet and the planet!
Obsessed with Ella Emhoff and low-key sad for her that she probably will have to stop holding her knitting workshop once we get Kamala elected.
I know!!!!!!
🔥🔥🔥 that Disney story is WILD
Succession plotline IRL
I think the bad PR got to them and they're not using the dinsey+ thing any more
Love all of these round-ups. I hope anything Bella Hadid puts her name on fails abysmally.
This is where the best vibes on Substack can be found 💓💓💓
