This era of every tiktok trend being reported on as if it is the answer to the psychological hang ups, or a profound cornerstone of our ideology is soooo tiring. Can you imagine if the Washington Post had wrote articles about, idk, the 2 guys sitting in a hot tub vine when that was popular. It only works in relation to tiktok fashion trends, due to the material aspect, but even then they’re pushing it. 😵💫
I thin about this a lot. I also recognise that a lot of these readers are many older and not on tiktok so this may be the only explainer they get. but what irks me is the doing too much aspect of things, making every trend mean more than it does. trying to monetise every viral moment...
Exactly this!! People wanna be in touch with the youth, but because social media is so accessible they end up reporting on a micro scale. And they do it so much, that it diminishes the value of any actual reporting on a more widespread cultural phenomenon. It’s too much!
The monetisation of such viral moments or trends are something we all should be more aware of, same as the whole amplification of such trends in the first place, imho it's timely to be informed of what's happening on Tiktok or Instagram, because one never really knows which cultural trend might stick, so there's this FOMO angle which might integrates into a JOMO angle in time, depends yet again on amplification, monetisation and being informed in a way which literally leaves a mark in our collective consciousness especially after switching off our smartphones and drifting into peaceful REM sleep, waking up wanting yet another high quality experience to read in "as seen on" I believe that describes perfectly why the good stuff remains great stuff etc, thank you 🤓😍📚🔖💯

The Lancet study didn’t just include plant based meat alternatives, it classified anything not from animals as ‘plant based-UFPs’ which includes things like bread & cereals which many meat eaters also eat. I think the media’s focus on the ‘plant based’ of it all is a silly way to demonise vegan food again. Like I know Beyond Meat isn’t healthy for me but neither is processed meat.
I think it's a given at this point that everyone knows processed meat isnt great for you. processed food in general. I chose to highlight it becasue brands like beyond meat brand themselves as better for you, but its more and more coming to question if they actually are
Yes I think a lot of ‘healthier’ brands are being shown to actually not be healthier. In general I fell like the vegan bubble had burst and we will see a reduction in the kinds of replacement products available again.
re linkedin - its really try hard and people really act up. one of the worst things i see is people posting personal life milestones and making it tie into business practices. for example, a post about a man becoming a father for the first time and how this life experience somehow improves his ability to be a project manager...
i work at UO and we can NOT sell the future wise stock we have for the life of us. meanwhile we just brought scarface in and are projected to have it be one of our best selling skincare launches this year. take with that what you will.
Alex Cooper's deal is the most inspiring thing I've seen this week. As someone who's had a podcast for around 5 years as well, the critical/competitive/comparative side of my brain is beating myself up hearing those numbers, but the "I'm working on myself and on my healing journey" side of my brain is SO inspired by her
Yesss to a Victoria Beckham documentary. I love what she posts on her YT channel. Always wanted more chatty videos from her in addition to the editorial ones, she's hilarious.
As always fascinating "food for thought" content, especially the Shein vs Temu tussle looks and feels like a real life comedy ie. dramady more like it, keep it up, keep our brains fresh, thank you 🤓😍📚🔖💯

yes!!! its called Conversations with Cam - mainly focuses on mental health, womens health, motherhood, and honestly just my life!
True, but sometimes we all guilty of deceiving ourselves about the good news from others, for others 😓💯
Thanks for the Link in Bio shout out!!
Hard to hear impossible and beyond meat is NOT good for us. Simplicity over everything!!!
